How wonderful, Ana. I wish you well in this exciting country. I've just been writing about HOME in my Substack and I hope you'll be able to make New Zealand, and your new place there, feel like home very quickly.
Thank you so much, Yasmin!! It's very exciting! The first impression has been an extremely positive one so I am sure we'll make this place our home for the next couple of years. I am excited to continue exploring and sharing this adventure :)
I'll have a look at your Substack - the topic of home hugely interests me from both the architectural and social point of views. Thanks for sharing it!
I've always found moving to be a great time to establish new, or better, habits. With all the disruption already going on, it's so much easier to add in something new. Every home or office move I've made has brought some better habits with it, or broken some I didn't want to keep. I hope you can make some better ones, too.
It is exciting! And indeed a good opportunity to build new habits. At least it seems I am managing to get up a bit earlier after the chaos of flying to the antipodes! Thanks so much for sharing your thoughts, Justin :)
Remember everyone, let yourself take an opportunity, plans might change, things might happen, give yourself permission to explore just a bit, or a lot.
What an adventure. I've done my native Germany, then London, France, and now Sweden. Each place was perfect for the stage of my life I was in, or maybe it was the place I was in that shaped the stage of life I was in. but all of the moves were a big reset that came each with its own set of inspiration. Enjoy NZ, it's definitely on my list, to visit at least.
That sounds amazing, Lorena! You are very right, it's a bit of both - we might be inspired or called to go to certain places, but those places redefine and build who we are when we experience life in them.
Let me know if you happen to visit NZ in the next couple of years! Would be lovely to meet here and show you around :)
