This is a great reminder to make the most of the time when we feel at our best, and for me it is certainly the morning. A book I really enjoyed reading, is 'Morning - How to Make Time' by Allan Jenkins; it's a little book of promise, and I recommend it. Thanks for your inspiration Ana - I think I need to be a bit more disciplined about keeping my mornings free for my own creative practice, which is writing, and pushing the boring chores like shopping and paperwork into afternoons.

Give it a try, Yasmin! It really pays off to start the day with a creative mindset. Thanks for the book recommendation : )

For me my morning routine is a must to make sure I take care of my own creative, mental, and physical health before the kids wake up and the work day begins. I’m also reading The Artist’s Way at Work and am looking to add an Artist Date to my weekly routine to help me fill up my well. Thanks for the reminder! 😀

That's amazing, Rizwan! Incredible that you manage to keep such a compelling morning routine with kids. Must be so challenging! Any tips? The Artist's Way was such an eye-opening book for me some years ago, didn't know this one focused on work existed (Julia Cameron has published so many books...!) Definitely going to check it out. Thanks for your comment :)

Thanks a lot for the reminder, Ana! I’m a big fan of morning routines before rushing to work, but still find it difficult to stick to them. I’ve recently found that to keep and develop my morning routines I have first to work on my routines before going to sleep, as they determine how will I wake up the following day. Any tips about how to be consistent with the habit?

You're totally right - the evening previous to the morning is crucial to get up with energy and well rested. I have also found that sleeping well is key to start the morning. Do you have any tips on this?

For the habits to stick, I follow James Clear's principles in his book 'Atomic Habits': make it obvious, make it attractive, make it easy, and make it satisfying. He focuses the whole book on the idea of creating habits that stick because of the benefit of the compounding effect.

Another tip: do things you enjoy together with the habits that don't stick, for example, play your favourite music, or make coffee, or treat yourself with a chocolate, etc. Make it a ritual that brings you some sort of self-caring incentive or excitement that you can look forward to.

Hope this helps! Let me know how it goes :)
